i shot this video the day after nemramen, a new ramen stall in the rákóczi market hall, opened. i originally wanted to try the food, but ironically, i wasn’t able to since there was no vegetarian option. instead, i found hetey marci, the guy behind the counter, so humble, adorable and genuine that i ran home to grab my mic kit and started rolling with no plan in my head. the total talking footage was just five minutes, and i edited the video that same day and posted it the next morning.
it went insanely viral, totalling almost 2 million views across instagram, youtube and tiktok, and generated queues in front of the small ramen shop for months afterwards. i strongly believe it wasn’t solely my merit, but rather the relatable person in front of the camera. nonetheless, i take pride in this video, and it taught me a valuable lesson about the power of social media.
